Date

Date and time formats, plus the start of your month, week, and year — the boundaries of the date cycles Bluecoins groups your data by.

The Date Settings screen controls two things: the date cycle boundaries Bluecoins uses when it groups your data, and the formats dates and times are written in. Open the app drawer, tap Settings, then Date.

Date Cycle

  • Start day of the month — the day your month begins (1 to 31).
  • Start day of the week — the day your week begins.
  • Start month of year — the month your year begins.

These define when a “month”, “week”, and “year” start for Bluecoins, so periods can follow your own calendar instead of a fixed one. Each row shows the current value (for example “DAY 1” or the full day name) and opens a picker.

Date Format

  • Date Format — how dates are written, with an automatic option that follows the device locale. The row shows a live example of today’s date in the selected format, so you can compare formats before choosing.
  • Time Format — how times are written, with the same automatic option and a live preview of the current time.

Both pickers list the available formats and mark the automatic option clearly, so choosing “automatic” simply means “use what the phone is set to”.

Health advice

If you budget by calendar month, leave the start day at 1. If your financial month starts elsewhere — for example a pay cycle that lands mid-month — set the start day of the month to the day after payday, and set the start of the week and year the same way, so the periods Bluecoins shows line up with the way you actually think about your money.
